Day 1 – Leadership (Monday 29 October 2012)

8.30am Coffee
9.15am  Welcome by AHDS President; Musical welcome by Scottish pupils; address by Scotland's Cabinet Secretary for Education (Education Minister)
9.45am ESHA President’s address
10 am  Keynote Speaker No. 1 – Mark van Vugt
10.45am Keynote Speaker No.2 - Tony Finn, Chief Executive, General Teaching Council for Scotland
11.30am Coffee

Leadership Workshops – Delegates will be able to choose one of the following workshops for this session and another for the afternoon session.  There is a mix of general interest workshops and ones which focus on developments or activity in Scotland:

•             Leading Change in Challenging Times

•             Leading Learning

•             Co-operative Learning

•             Distributive Leadership

•             Leading for wider/personal achievement

•             Leading in a crisis

‘Scotland in focus’ workshops:

•             Innovation: Our Curriculum

•             Innovation: Cluster connections

6.30pm Drinks reception in the Scottish Parliament hosted by Stewart Maxwell, Convener of the Parliament's Education Committee, and addressed by Scotland's Cabinet Secretary for Education.

Day 2 – Motivation  (Tuesday 30 October 2012)

Motivation Workshops – Delegates will be able to choose one of the following workshops for this session and another for the afternoon session.  There is a mix of general interest workshops and ones which focus on developments or activity in Scotland:

•             Motivating a team

•             Engaging the disengaged

•             Motivation in a high performing school

•             Motivating your staff

•             Motivating young people

•             Motivating for further learning

‘Scotland in focus’ workshops:

•             Innovation: Leading in the classroom

•             Insight: Healthy schools

•             Insight: Outdoor learning

•             Insight: Active schools

•             Insight: Nurturing schools

11.40am Workshops – Workshops above will be repeated with delegates attending a different session than in the first session.

1.30pm

School visits: Nursery; Primary; Secondary; Additional Support Needs; Independent School; Further Education College and possible virtual school visit/s.  
7.15 pm Gala Dinner.  Welcome by piper and traditional Scottish entertainment.

 

Day 3 – Working Together, Learning Together (Wednesday 31 October 2012)

European School Heads Association (ESHA)

ESHA je profesionalna organizacija za Ravnatelje Europskih škola,

kojoj su članovi nacionalne organizacije - udruge školskih ravnatelja.

 

Aims for ESHA are:

  • discussing and developing views within the ESHA-membership on innovative education and on school leadership

  • promoting these views on the European level

  • influencing the policy of the European institutions (Commission, Parliament)

  • promoting international exchange and cooperation

 

Means to attain these goals

ESHA will involve all possible means to attain the goals that are mentioned above. Each year the intended actions will be stated in a working plan. In general however the means are:

  • Vision papers
    ESHA publishes vision papers on important issues in international education

  • Conferences
    ESHA organizes various meetings and one big conference every two years

  • International Projects
    ESHA participates in European projects on issues like school leadership, staff training

  • International Projects
    ESHA participates in European projects on issues like school leadership, staff training, multimedia and ICT and so on 

  • External Contacts
    ESHA is in permanent contact with other relevant actors like European Commission, European Parliament, and other international organisations 

  • Communication
    ESHA promotes communication and exchange between its members

  • Organisational Structure
    ESHA ‘s General Assembly consists of active school heads from all over Europe. The Board is small and decisive and is supported by a small and professional executive office.
